Villasandino at Compass Point 1925

Posted on May 14, 2014 by in Wrecks | 2 comments

The Villasandino ran aground under Compass Point on 28th February 1925 after drifting for some days – she had earlier broken down off Lundy and her crew were taken off by another vessel. It is said that the coal, which she was carrying, covered the beach 2″ deep.

  1. The crew were rescued by the SS British Chancellor (my Grandfather was on board)
